Rubies on the Wing
"Nature always wears the colours of the spirit." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
Acrylic on gallery mount canvas, edges painted black, 28” x 22”
Beautiful Monarda (bee balm) and Ruby Throated Hummingbirds in flight, demonstrating their acrobatic abilities. These birds are delicate but incredibly resilient and strong, flying tremendous distances every day. In Native North American culture, hummingbirds are seen as healers and bringers of love, good luck and joy. In Central America, they are a sign of love and will bring love to the person who spots them. Hummingbirds alone can fly moving their wings in the pattern of an infinity symbol (the figure 8). Hummingbirds also symbolize great courage, determination, flexibility and adaptability. Photo references from photographers Anais Trepanier, Larry Lafleur, Claudine Ascher. Available on a card in my store as well.
